Many of us ask thinks about life why do we live? Why do we breathe? What is our purpose? We tried to walk our path, even if we don't know what the right way is. We just let the wind carry us, let the crowd around us decide, but we always wonder about life. Who are we? What are we? We always describe life like the things that we see around us, life is like a tree, life is like a highway, a leaf, or even a single teardrop. Life is like anything we see but it depends on how we appreciate it and on how we look at it and we need to accept that every life has its own ending.
In the town called Edtwille there is a man, who lives a life full of questions that no one in the town can answer, questions that shadowed his identity and life with doubt and confusion. En Nagali never met his family he grew up knowing Edtwille his home and Liu Nagali his father. Everyone knew what happen that night when En came to Edtwille in the midst of war and controversy, still En is accepted as a son of Edtwille.
En was born on a stormy night of September 21, the only son of the general, a rich and well known person. The General was so happy En came to his life, though identity of En’s mother is left unsaid to anyone. A week after En was born, the dark side wage war to everyone for an attempt to take over the world, everyone have no choice but to leave their home and find refuge somewhere, the army of peace makes defense turning cities into fortress against the dark side. The General lead a force to defend Veksiege, the main city, Dia, The General’s Secretary took care of En. After two weeks the war still continues; and news spread a large raid of dark side will target Veksiege from any direction. The remaining civilians in Veksiege have no choice seek refuge as well like the others. The General told Dia “Ride the wagon and go as far as you can go away from Veksiege, keep En safe no matter what.” Dia asked the general to come with her but the general decline “I’m sorry I have to defend Veksiege at any cost.” The General make his farewell to En then the wagon rushed through the woods away to Veksiege as fast as it can go until there is no site of the main city.
After hours of travelling away from Veksiege, a huge smoke came from the sky in the direction of the main city maybe signals that the dark side attacks on Veksiege started. Meanwhile a group of soldier ambushed the wagon all the people inside were held hostage. Dia quickly run through the forest but suffer a cut wound at her back. Dia forcefully run not thinking about the wound at her back, after hours of walking through the forest Dia walk across a man and fainted because of fatigue and severe blood loss. The man carry Dia and En back to his village then place Dia to a medical facility; while in the facility Dia told the man everything, about En and the war against the dark side then ask the man to look after En. The next day Dia died of septicemia since then Liu, the man who helped Dia took care of En. En became a son of Edtwille, Liu never forgot that night and plan to tell En everything when the time comes.
En learned how to walk before reaching 1 year old, but never speak any word. At the age of 3 he walk the woods alone, leaving the townspeople searching for him. At the age of 5 he was able to speak after hearing a roar in front of a tiger in the woods, the tiger then became his friend and he name it Tig. The day he reaches 7 while the whole town celebrates his birthday, soldiers came and announce a search for rebels. The Edtwille people kept their head down knowing there is no one who rebelled against the government. After an hour of search the soldiers apprehend Lio and 5 others, the townspeople don't know what to do they were armed. En cried for losing Lio at his side, and that day he realize he have to do something.
After that day En became different, he always thinks no one knows what he was doing but he got every person in Edtwille worried about him. Everyday En remains silent, nodding became his only reaction. In the mourning you'll see him running all over the town, in the afternoon sitting by the tree near the town's entrance and at night wondering the woods. The townspeople miss En's smile, his laugh, his words and his different reaction to everything. Only one remain on En's side and its Tig, who maybe can felt En's emotion, his guilt, and anger.
After 6 months of silence En realizes he can do something different, for the people, for Lio and for himself. He then became very focus on everything, He set a goal but no one knows what it is. He finished primary and secondary education at Edtwille. 10 years after his 7th birthday he decided to achieve his goals. He talked to the town's leaders and ask their reaction to his decision, after a moment of discussion the town leaders approve what En is planning they supported him. Everyone was curious why En entered the leaders hall, no one knows about En's plan except for the town's leaders.
Rumor spread that En is leaving the town for good, some said his going to rescue Lio and the others. Many rumors came to the minds of the townspeople, the son of Edtwille is leaving it is sad but inevitable.
After a week the town's leaders requested everyone to go to the Town Hall, as En will announce his plan. En starts speaking and said the following words, " People of Edtwille I En will leave this town for good, I don't assure my return but I will do this for this is the right thing to do. Many of you may called me " the son of Edtwille " and most of you may think I'm important but the truth is I'm not. I realize that all of us make this town, I realize that each of us has a role in this town and all of you are Important. All I want to do is to go where I'm supposed to go, help those in need and catch those goals I set for myself. Do me a favor Edtwille For now on call me " En The Catcher ". The townspeople was surprise, some of them were crying and some of them were disappointed but after En's speech was over all of them were clapping and cheering for En.
After that day En packed his things and leave Edtwille, his first direction is to find Veksiege, the main city the town where he was born. En left Edtwille with his parting words,
" Life is like a book, every page has a different content as you turn the page. you have to move on and create another chapter. Each book has its typographical errors, wrong grammars, and misspelled words and these are the obstacle we must get through. The friends we have in our life is the contributors or the references, and all the people around you are the readers waiting for you to make a difference on their life. You can move back to the previous page but you can't change what is already written. Every book has an ending and everyone should find their own ending, and remember when you make a difference in someone's life you'll always going to be remembered. farewell Edtwille ".
This is the beginning of En's journey, he may not know what awaits for him in Veksiege but one thing he have is direction. He feels he can find his next destination and his destiny in the main city, Veksiege.
